For the first time at a Scottish Tourism Alliance Conference, attendees will be joined by Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP who will outline some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the coming months for our industry.
We'll also welcome Kate Nicholls, CEO UKHospitality to talk about the skills agenda and future workforce; Caroline Bremner, International Head of Travel Research at Euromonitor will bring us the latest insights and trends that our tourism economy is likely to experience over the next few years and Marc Crothall, Chief Executive of the STA will give an update on where we are in our current Tourism Strategy and how things will shape up for that all important 2030 vision.
James Withers, CEO Scotland Food & Drink will join us in the afternoon to talk about how Scotland’s tourism industry and food and drink sector can work collaboratively to deliver a No 1 global food destination.
We’ll also explore waste and profit in the context of tourism and the circular economy with Dr Richard Swannell from WRAP Global and the conference will be brought to a close with thoughts from Will Whitehorn, Former President of Virgin Galactic on creating a culture of innovation in organisations.
