Job description

The National Park has been seeing an unprecedented level of development activity in recent years and across a wide and varied planning application workload. From a gold mine to affordable housing developments, run of river hydro schemes and, major hotel and tourism development – there has been a lot going on. Our Local Development Plan has just been Adopted and sets out an ambitious and exciting vision for the Park. To support this we are investing in our award winning planning service.

This role will handle a range of our more complex planning applications as well as contributing to supporting processes, delivering timeous planning decisions which will contribute to wider National Park Authority outcomes.

As with other roles, you will support the wider Statutory Planning function including contributing or leading projects, service improvements and innovative delivery of services digitally and online. You may also have the opportunity to participate in other related projects.

You should hold a degree or equivalent in planning or a related discipline and have achieved (or be working towards) MRTPI status. Excellent communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills are all essential as is a keen eye for detail.
