The service is open to the whole of the food and drink sector, whatever size of business and wherever you are based. Are you seeking support to become more innovative? Have you got an idea or planning something new or different that will add value to your business?

Whether it involves product development, your processes or employees, Make Innovation Happen can help you explore your ideas and develop them all the way through to market. This service is the first step towards Ambition 2030 which prioritises innovation as critical to continued success in the sector.

About Make Innovation Happen

Innovation in farming, fishing, food and drink is vital to empower Scotland’s food and drink businesses to respond to today’s consumer and market needs and to adapt to future challenges and opportunities.

Research shows that farming, fishing, food and drink businesses say they find the complexity of support services available make it hard to navigate - business owners know there is support out there, they often don’t know where to go to find it.

This service will nurture a culture of innovation and:

  • Provides a single gateway for businesses wanting information and support to innovate.
  • Connects businesses to the right research, knowledge or funding via dedicated Innovation Connectors based within Interface, Highlands & Island Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise, who are tasked with ensuring businesses receive support which is aligned across the organisations.
  • Supports businesses on their individual innovation journey, from concept to launch and to support increased efficiency through ongoing product development and process re-engineering.
  • Provides access to innovation knowledge articles to help you research the innovation opportunities available.
