Borders Journeys was connected to Queen Margaret University through Interface to research the ancestral tourism market in Scotland. This informed the strategic direction for this successful tour company. The attractions of Tomintoul and Glenlivet Trust, Jupiter Artland and Timespan have all benefitted from academic expertise to harness digital technologies to enhance their visitor experience.

Diana McMicking Education Director Jupiter ArtlandEqual Adventure develops equipment, information and resources with the aim of making outdoor adventure, fieldwork and active lifestyles accessible regardless of disability. Interface matched their social enterprise with University of Strathclyde to complete stringent laboratory tests on their prototype of snow board bindings for double leg amputees.
Dunnet Bay Distillers initially collaborated with Heriot-Watt University to help develop their seaweed vodka and gin. They then went on to work with the University of Aberdeen, the University of Strathclyde, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of the Highlands and Islands on various projects partnered by Interface.
